Makeup and Beauty Blog Weekly Roundup

Can I ask you lot a question, ladies? It'southward very important. Okay, not really. It'southward about bangs. I got mine trimmed a few weeks ago, and they've grown out to where they're starting to work my nerves. My stylist offers free bang trims, which I know a lot of stylists practice, but I'm not quite certain if I should tip her, and if I do, how much. I hateful, I love how she cuts my hair. She'due south gifted with curls and waves, only it doesn't accept long to trim bangs, and my regular haircuts practice cost an arm and a leg… I merely don't desire to be rude, but she does stress how the trims are free.

Exercise y'all always take stylists up on their offer of costless bang trims, and if y'all do, do you tip?

In other news, it's Sunday! Do yous know where your tabby cat is? Mine's on my lap, making biscuits on my thigh.

What are you doing today? Got anything fun lined up? El Hub and I are going out to get breakfast, and then I'll be back hither to work on a project for tonight on the blog. Stay tuned! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wherever you are, my dear black harbinger cowboy lid, I reckon we would've made sweetness music together today, taking pictures of ourselves covered in glitter with the new Urban Disuse Cowboy Junkie Shadows & Gloss Set ($38).

The new set rides into town for the holidays, kicking upward glitter in its wake with four pulverisation shadows, a liner and one lonesome lip gloss.

Three members of the set hail from the Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow gang, known for their middle-communicable, dramatic glitter.

But this glitter is similar grit on a desert trail (gets everywhere). Midnight Cowboy (a gritty, glittery smashing pink), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (a glittery peachy tan) and Midnight Cowgirl (a glittery gold) exit fallout everywhere รข€" beneath my eyes, effectually my nose and on my cheeks. Shoot, I even plant some on Tabs.

FULL Face up PALETTE

How practice you spell a scream, friends? Gaaaaah! possibly? I had one of those days… I started with grand plans and great expectations to write virtually, among other things, the beauty gods' gift to big hair and the new smokey Urban Decay Blackness Palette, only I hit The Great Wall.

No, non the 1 in China.

NYX Eyebrow Shaper NYX EYEBROW
SHAPER

Some mornings I but CANNOT get it together, and even something as elementary yet important equally operating the coffee maker might likewise be quantum physics.

I call those my makeup-for-dummies days, and when they strike I turn to instant coffee my armory of tools and tricks to fake a skillful night's sleep.

Tin can't take my neighbors mistaking me for the showtime wave in the coming zombie apocalypse, right?

The latest addition to my makeup-for-dummies kit, NYX's new Eyebrow Shaper ($eight.75), is one of several new eyebrow products from NYX this fall. Information technology's a colorless, waxy brow gel in pencil grade รข€" perfect for sculpting and taming unruly brows รข€" and for me information technology takes the place of having to make full in my brows with a colored brow pencil, wax or eyeshadow, particularly when I'm tired and/or lazy (read: oft). Urban Decay Purple Eyeshadows A Comparing OF URBAN DECAY
PURPLE EYESHADOWS

Last night when MBB reader Steph B asked this about the Urban Decay Cowboy Junkie Palette ($38), I thought it was a perfect alibi to paint my arm royal.

Hmm… Good question. To get to the bottom of information technology, I busted out some of the like Urban Decay purples in my stash to practice a quick comparison.

I don't have Purple Haze, but Flash, Freakshow, Ecstasy and Frigid are currently available equally singles in UD'south permanent line; AC/DC is from last autumn's Book of Shadows Vol. Two.

From the left that'south Romp (from the Cowboy Junkie Palette), Flash ($17), Freakshow ($18), Ecstasy ($17), Air conditioning/DC and Frigid ($xviii).

I'd take to say that of these colors hither, Romp about closely resembles AC/DC in its pan, simply I call up information technology looks more than similar Frigid (a dark purple with hints of navy blue and black) on the skin. Read more…

Clarins Barocco Holiday 2010 Collection CLARINS BAROCCO
HOLIDAY 2010 COLLECTION

Ladies, I haven't felt very glamorous this week… On a scale of i to ten, my glamorousness has been hovering around a -3. With scrunchies in my hair and my bum glued to the couch and wrapped in stretchy pants, I've watched just well-nigh every zombie movie and Idiot box testify released since 1969. Has it been educational? Sure, only information technology hasn't been bang-up for glamor.

The new Clarins Barocco Holiday Collection couldn't accept come at a better fourth dimension.

Await at all that fancy… ๐Ÿ™‚ It'south like a shot of fabulous directly to the heart!

The floral swirls/filigree designs both inside and out, and the rich berry, gold, blackness and peach shades seduced the sweat pants right off me (really, they were raggedy yoga pants). These are products begging to exist worn with a shimmery aureate gown and dangerously loftier heels. Read more…

Today I left the thugs to their gangsta'southward paradise while I escaped yet again to my regal i. I could go on and on well-nigh how much I dearest royal eyeshadow, but the No. 1 reason why I think every daughter (or makeup loving boy, for that matter) should play with purple is because of how great information technology goes with everything.

Sephora Stimulating Lavender Cuticle Oil Pen SEPHORA LAVENDER
CUTICLE OIL PEN

The only thing that could mayhap make Sephora Stimulating Lavander Cuticle Oil pens ($12) better would be if y'all could buy them at bulk prices in packs.

I know I've mentioned information technology before, but this pen's the frickin' bomb-dot-com, particularly if your cuticles expect like Snooki after a long night at da club…

Twisting the bottom soaks the castor tip with moisturizing oil. And so just brush onto dry cuticles. Uncomplicated but constructive.

I picked ane up at Sephora'southward Friends & Family sale, and my merely regret is that I didn't go more than.

This Stimulating Lavender version is i of three flavors. Last year'south was called Nourishing Cuticle Oil (there'southward too Healing Eucalyptus). This one works the aforementioned every bit that 1 but has a lavender odor. Read more…
